The Woo Korean Bbq & Cuisine Information

The Woo Korean BBQ & Cuisine at 4070 Jermantown Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030, has quickly become one of the most talked-about spots in the area, and after spending time there for both lunch and dinner, I completely understand why. The moment you walk in, the space feels calm-white walls, light wood, and a clean, minimal setup that sets the tone for a comfortable dining experience. It feels modern, but still warm enough to enjoy a slow meal with friends or family.

What stood out first was the service. The staff is attentive in a way that feels genuine, not forced. When I visited for lunch, the server brought out a small lacquered box with a hand towel inside. It expanded when it absorbed water, which was a surprisingly fun touch. They also served a small cup of bone broth before the meal, and even though it was a simple gesture, it set the mood perfectly-light, savory, and soothing.

The menu is filled with classic Korean dishes, but each one feels thoughtfully prepared. Their Lunch Special Gal Bi Tang was one of the first dishes I tried, and it had a rich, clean broth with tender ribs. The flavor matched what many reviewers mentioned-deep, not overly salty, and clearly made with care. The Banchan selection was another highlight. The quality is noticeably higher than what you see in many places, with favorites like lotus root, quail eggs, and squid, and they happily offer refills.

Dinner brought even more standouts. The Beef Marinated Rib had a balanced sweetness that didn’t overpower the meat, while the Beef Tartare (yukhoe) was fresh and generously portioned. Their Bibim Naeng Myun had a great chew and spicy kick, and it paired well with the lighter broth served on the side. Everything arrived plated beautifully on traditional Korean clay ware, which made the experience feel a bit elevated without being fussy.

Across multiple visits, the consistency in flavor, presentation, and service stayed strong. The Woo Korean BBQ & Cuisine offers the kind of dining atmosphere that makes you want to return-thoughtful food, friendly staff, and an interior that makes every meal feel just a little more special.

What People's Say About Place

After hearing positive reviews about this newly opened Korean restaurant, we decided to visit for lunch, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Upon being seated, the server presented us with the menu and a hand towel placed in a small lacquered box, which was quite innovative as it expanded when absorbing water. Additionally, a cup of bone broth was offered to each of us for a tasting—a thoughtful gesture that helped cleanse the palate and warm us up. For our meal, we chose the Galbi-tang and grilled croakers. Both dishes were flavorful, with the soup exhibiting a rich depth and the ribs cooked to achieve a tender texture. The croakers were grilled to perfection, and the accompanying side dishes stood out with their quality and taste, offering a refreshing alternative compared to other establishments. The presentation of the dishes was visually appealing, and the selection of serving ware added a charming touch. The restaurant's minimalistic interior, white walls, and light wood tones created a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, the combination of delicious food and attentive service made for an enjoyable experience, and we look forward to exploring more of their Korean cuisine, including barbecue, soon. Update: We returned for dinner, and the other food items we tried were of excellent quality and tasted authentic. The service was consistently good, and the overall experience was worth it.

A very beautiful place. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The place was clean and had a stylish romantic setting. The presentation's simplicity was attractive, and the food was really authentic. It wasn't your typical Korean BBQ restaurant. It had an exquisite flavor. Which was sutle and not overly salty. I enjoyed it.

Finally tried this restaurant after hearing good things, and I'm glad I did. The interior is calming and the staff were very friendly. Everything is plated beautifully on traditional Korean clay ware. As for food, I loved all the different banchan (side dishes)- they had my favorites (quail eggs, squid, lotus root)!!! They even offer bone broth as a side, which was amazing. They also offer refills on the banchan. For dinner, we ordered the haemul pajeon, yukhoe bibimbap, galbi tang, and mul naengmyeon. All the dishes were delicious. The bibimbap came with a lot of raw beef, and the pajeon was super crispy and had lots of seafood without too much flour. My mom, a korean ajumma who cooks Korean cuisine regularly, said the broth of the galbi tang was done properly. The food is, however, a bit pricey. I think the atmosphere and quality of the food make it worthwhile, though.

Lovely restaurant and staff! Immediately greeted and seated. It was about an hour and a half to close. The restaurant was bustling with laughter and pretty full. Food was delicious. The meat was very tender and cooked perfectly. Some of the best cuts I’ve had at a KBBQ restaurant. Banchans were delicious and fresh, complimented the meat well. Staff was attentive and prepared the meat for us. Definitely recommend!

A great Korean BBQ place to add to the list! Loved the calm and modern ambience and the food was delicious at such a reasonable price point. Would definitely come again!

Absolutely loved our experience at this Korean BBQ spot! The aesthetic is modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed—perfect for a night out or a special occasion. Every dish was flavorful and high quality, from the marinated meats to the ox soup. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure our grill was always taken care of. Top-tier service, delicious food, and a beautiful atmosphere—we’ll definitely be coming back!

The side dishes were fresh and well-prepared, and everything tasted great! Among the meats, the marinated galbi was the best. The seafood pancake with shrimp and the yukhoe were also very good. Galbitang and Sinseollo Sooyuk were decent, but the naengmyeon was nothing special. The hangjungsal was disappointing. It was too thin, and honestly, the ones from the H-mart or Lotte mart taste better. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I especially liked that they served different types of salt and fresh wasabi to pair with the meat. It was a really nice touch.

If you ask me which Korean restaurant is the best in VA, I would not hesitate to choose the Woo. The atmosphere is modernized but traditional, simple but elegant. All servers were very friendly, especially to my little ones. You can feel that they are genuinely good people if they love kids. When we sat down in our seats, a waiter poured water over rolls of wipes, which blossomed for each guest to wipe hands. Their menus included traditional Korean cuisine that are not k-bbq. You can do bbq if you want but I would recommend trying beef tartare, grilled yellow croaker, or intestine soups. Most menu comes with a cup of ox bone soup and delicious side dish. Most bbq menu comes with various salts and seasoning. Kimchi here is pretty decent. I’ve already been here at least ten times, but never disappoints my expectation. I would recommmend this restaurant to anyone and even take my non-Korean friends out for lunch/dinner.
